"BE  PART OF A FAMILY"

Key Club's Major Emphasis: "Children: Their Future, Our Focus."

Key Club International Projects

Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces with the Eliminate Project to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of almost 60,000 babies and numerous women each year. The effects of the disease are excruiating- tiny newborns suffer repeated, painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate this disease, about 100 million babies and mothers must be immunized. It  will take US $110 million- and the dedicated work of every UNICEF and Kiwanis member. The end of this disease means the beginning of better health for many disadvantaged families.

Since 1994, Key Club has been Trick-or-Treating for UNICEF and over the years has raised nearly US $5 million for iodine deficiency programs worldwide and HIV and AIDS programs in Kenya and Swaziland. Now it's helping the Eliminate Project. Through 2015, all funds raised during the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF shall be used to support the Eliminate Project.

The mission of March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. March of Dimes was founded by former US President, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, in the fight against polio. After the discovery of the polio vaccine, March of Dimes primarily focused on babies. Since 1978, Key Club has supported this foundation through numerous fundraisers. In 2011, Key Club was able to raise $116,00! March for Babies is March of Dimes largest annual fundraiser.

Children's Miracle Network (CMN) is a nonprofit orginization that raises money to benefit hospitalized kids while increasing awareness of its member hospitals. All CMN Hospitals contributions directly benefit hospitals, helping to purchase up-to-date equipment, train staff, conduct life-saving research, implement outreach programs and provide health care for children whose parent's can't afford to pay. In 1997, Key Club made CMN a preffered charity for members to support.
